Review

WinMx is a freeware P2P client that downloads and shares our media files over the internet. This software starts as an OpenNAP client that enables to be connected to several servers at the same time. After of this the company responsible for the creation of the software created a proprietary protocol, named WinMX Peer Network Protocol (WPNP).

You can download practically anything from this file sharing software. It works with multiple points system that allows download the same file in small pieces from different users.

This software provide multiple functions and options, it allows the host of chat rooms with a built-in chat function, the ability to still connected to multiple servers, auto-complete option that continuously seek out new download sources, compatibility with most LAN configurations, and others.

Right now the author and the software website are not longer available but the software still has a great online support by the users, creating new plug-ins and new versions of application.
